Fuel System Draining
Engineto be stored over30 daysshouldbe com-
pletely drained of fuelto preventgum depositsform-
ingon essentialc_a_uretorparts,fuel filter and tank,
Gasoline is extremely flammable and can be
explosive under certain conditions,
Drain fuel before storing the equipment for
extended periods.
Drain gasoline in a wall=ventilated a_a away
from any source of flame or sparks, includ-
ing any appliances with a pilot light, Store
gasoline in an approved container in safe lo-
cation,
= Clean eve_ pa_ of the engine,
• Be sure that the engine switch or switch key is
positionedat "OFF"position,
• Close the fuel valve and remove the sediment
bowl.
• Put a pan under the fuel valve to receive the
drained gasolineand open the fuel valve to drain
thegasoline from fuel tank completely.
• Install the sedimentbowl,
• Put a pan under the carburetorand loosen the
drain screwof theca_uretor to drain the gasoline
completely.
• Tighten the drain screw,

Gasoline is a toxic substence. Dispose of
gasoline properly. Contact your local au_or-
ities for approved disposal methods.
• Removethe sparkplugs andpour approx I ~ 2 mL
(0,06 ~ 0.1 cu in,) of engineoil throughthe spark
plugholes andthenscrewthe sparkplugsin after
turningthe engine a few times, Slowly turnthe
engine until you fee{ compressionandthen leave
itthem. Thistrapsthe air inside the cylindersand
preventsrust inside the engine.
• Wipe the bodywith oilycloth.
• Wrap the enginewithplasticsheetingandstore it
in a dry place.
