Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump Service Spark Plug Service
Improper use of solvents can result in fire or
an explosion.
Do not use gasoline or low flash-point sol-
vents to clean the fuel filter andlor the fuel
pump,
Clean only in a well ventilated area away from
sources of sparks or flame, including any ap-
pliances with a pilot light.
• The fuel filter can notbe disassembled,Ifthe foe[
filtergetsclogged,replace itwitha new one.
• Thefuel pumpcan notbe disassembled.Ifthe fuel
pumpfails, replaceit with a new one,
Hot engine components can cause severe
burns,
Stop engine and allow itto cool before check-
ing spark plugs.
Cleanorreplacethe sparkplugsand resetgap(A)
every 100 hoursof operation.
• Disconnectthe sparkplugcaps from sparkplugs
and removethe sparkplugs.
• Cleantheelectrodes(B) byscrapingorwitha wire
brushto removecarbondeposits.
• Inspectfor cracked porcelainor other wear and
damage, Replace the spark plugwitha new one
ifnecessary.
• Check the spark pluggap and reset it if neces-
saw. The gap must be 0.75 mm (0.030 in). To
changethe gap, bendonlytheside-electrode, us-
inga sparkplugtool
• Installandtightenthe sparkplugsto 22 N_m(2.2
kgf.m,16 ft'lb),
• Fit the spark plug caps on the spark plugsse-
curely.
• Pull up the sparkplug caps lightlyto make sure of
the installationof the spark plugcaps.
