Command Station Initialization Messages
Command Station Memory Clear - Factory Reset
There are a series of system initialization messages that appear when the Command Station is
powered on and goes through a self test. If you want to see the messages again, push the RESET
button, then push and hold the RESET key when the message appears.

First message, right after power is applied.
Check of memory status and battery is OK.
QDS enabled message appears because the RS232 port
is active. If the port has been disabled, the QDS line
does not appear.
Memory BAD message appears anytime you have
issued a reset of the system or cleared the consist
memory.
If the “MEMORY BAD” display comes up every time
you turn the power on, recheck battery orientation. This
message may also mean the batteries are bad.

To force a total system reset, and clear the Command Stations' entire memory, use the following
procedure. This will clear all advanced and standard consists too. If you had advanced consists,
you will need to re-enter them. Also, this will re-enable the computer port. Be sure and disable the
port if not used.
m ENT, Push and hold the ENT key
m RESET Push and release the RESET key. Do not release the
ENT key until the message “MEMORY BAD” appears on the
display. This will confirm the system memory has been cleared and
factory defaults at left have been restored.
If the MEMORY BAD message does not appear, the ENT key was probably released to early.
Repeat the sequence and hold until the MEMORY BAD message does appear.
