Why won't my Danfoss VLT FC 100 motor run?

  The motor might not run for several reasons. First, ensure the unit is powered up and shows no warnings or alarms. Check if terminal 27 is logic '1'. Make sure the [Off] key hasn't been pressed; if it has, press the [Auto On] or [Hand On] key. Also, verify that a start command is present at terminal 18. Incorrect control logic or an incorrectly programmed adjustable frequency drive may also be the cause.

  If your motor isn't operating correctly, there are several things to check. First, ensure the unit is programmed correctly for the reference signal and that all reference limits are set correctly. Verify the settings of all motor parameters, including compensation settings. Also, check all brake parameters and the ramp-down time. Ensure that the adjustable frequency drive is providing correct output, and there is no open winding in the motor or open phase in connection to the motor.

  An intermittent display could be due to an overloaded power supply (SMPS). Try disconnecting all control wiring from the control terminal blocks. If the display stays lit, the problem is in the external control wiring. If it continues to cut out, follow the procedure for 'No Display'. Improper control wiring, overload of the 24 V output, or a fault within the adjustable frequency drive itself could also cause this overload.
