What causes power interruptions in DCS Media Converter?
    • K
      kristen12Sep 9, 2025
Power interruptions can be caused by loose AC power wiring, local power-line overloads, or heavy-duty appliances like air conditioners. If this occurs frequently, please consult your dealer.

What should I do if my DCS Media Converter is interrupted or fails CD update?
    • G
      gina14Aug 23, 2025
If a software update from a dCS CD is interrupted, the original software may be recovered by switching the unit off and on, then waiting a few moments. Ensure that the Upsampler or other device is set to bit-for-bit (Clone) mode. If your CD player upsamples to 48kS/s or 88.2kS/s or adds dither, the update program will reject the data; use an 'ordinary' CD player.

What causes erratic operation when locked to 96 or 88.2kS/s on Toslink or ST inputs on DCS Media Converter?
    • F
      fitzpatricksherriAug 25, 2025
Ensure your optical connections are clean and properly installed. The Toslink and ST receiver devices are industry standard types which are not guaranteed to operate correctly at 96 or 88.2kS/s. Connect to a different input instead.

What to do if my DCS Media Converter fails to power up?
    • J
      John MartinAug 27, 2025
First, ensure that the mains cable is properly connected and that there is power available. Wait 10 seconds after connecting the power cable, then press the Power/Standby button. Also, verify that the rated supply voltage on the rear of the unit matches your local supply voltage. Finally, check the fuse and replace it if it has blown, after correcting any obvious cause.

What to do if the DCS Media Converter locks but the audio output is low or absent?
    • J
      james70Aug 27, 2025
Check that the MUTE indicator is off. If not, press the Mute button. Check that the audio output cables are correctly connected, and the equipment following the unit is switched on and correctly set up. Ensure the Volume and Balance controls are correctly set. Ensure the source is sending audio data. Ensure the Output Level is correctly set - turn the Volume control down by 10dB before changing this setting.

What to do if DCS Delius Media Converter unit fails to lock to a digital audio source or displays 'No Input'?
    • M
      markrodriguezAug 29, 2025
First, make sure that you have selected the correct input. Verify that the digital audio cable is the correct type, is properly connected, and is not damaged. Try using another cable, as damaged cables are a common cause of malfunctions. Check that the source is switched on and, if using a CD player, ensure it is in 'play' mode. If the unit locks to another source but not your CD player, the player may need servicing. If you are using Master mode or a Master Clock, try slaving to the audio input and check the Wordclock connections if the unit locks.

Why does my DCS Media Converter make a burst of noise while playing a DVD, then mutes and changes sample rate?
    • K
      Kelly KeithSep 19, 2025
Some DVDs have been compiled with tracks recorded at different sample rates (e.g., 96kS/s & 48kS/s) without warning of this sudden change in sample rate, so the DAC tries to decode corrupted data momentarily before registering loss of sync, muting, and re-locking. Reduce the volume at the end of the track where a change occurs and increase it when the unit displays a new sample rate.

What to do if my DCS Delius Media Converter will not decode Dual AES?
    • C
      carlawolfeSep 12, 2025
Dual AES mode may be disabled. Open the menu and set the Dual AES page to On. Connect a valid 88.2, 96, 176.4, or 192kS/s Dual AES source to both AES 1 and AES 2 inputs. Press the Input selector button repeatedly until both AES1 and AES2 indicators are lit. Your source equipment may have two AES outputs but might not be capable of Dual AES operation. Check the manual for the source equipment.

Why does my DCS Delius Media Converter unit fail to respond to the controls?
    • R
      Robert Romero DVMSep 8, 2025
Check that the STBY indicator is not lit. If it is, press the Power/Standby button to return to normal operation. Alternatively, switch the unit off, wait 10 seconds, and switch it back on to cancel Standby mode. While the unit is locking to a source or changing settings, it will not respond to new commands for a few seconds. If the Mute fade-out rate is set to Mute-Slw, the unit may be unresponsive while slow muting is in progress. Short mains supply drop-outs may cause the microcontroller to lock up; switch the unit off, wait 10 seconds, then switch it back on.

How to troubleshoot power up test errors on my DCS Media Converter?
    • D
      Dawn SerranoSep 5, 2025
For a Bad Checksum error, press any button to try to clear the fault. If that doesn't work, try switching the unit off, waiting 20 seconds, and then switching it back on. If the fault persists, please consult your dealer.
