INDEXES AND SOFTWARE VERSION NUMBERS
Software History
This manual is for Delius software version 2.3x.
Version 2.3x differs from 2.2x versions as follows:
In PCM mode, Delius can now lock to an external word clock that is at an exact
multiple of the sample rate. For example:
• with a data rate of 96kS/s, the word clock may be at 32, 48 or 96kHz
(previously 96kHz only).
• with Dual AES data at 176.4kS/s, the word clock may be at 44.1 or 88.2kHz
(previously 88.2kHz only).
• with Dual AES data at 192kS/s, the word clock may be at 32, 48 or 96kHz
(previously 96kHz only).
Note that DSD mode still requires a 44.1kHz word clock only.
Version 2.2x differs from 2.1x versions as follows:
• (Units with 1394 option only) Delius responds to status messages sent over
the 1394 interface from a Verdi (v1.2x) to allow automatic switching
between SACD and CD modes. This also allows Delius to report any cabling
faults.
• 1394 Src menu deleted – 1394 sources are selected with the Input button
or automatically selected by a Verdi.
• Clock menu deleted. In Master mode, Delius outputs a Wordclock at
44.1kHz only. Wordclock Out is disabled in Slave or Sync modes.
• Part No. menu deleted.
• After a Factory reset, the inputs are set up to match the other dCS units in
the system.
• 1394 operation generally improved, system messages changed.
Version 2.1x differs from 2.0x versions as follows:
• menu order rearranged.
• improved IEEE 1394 interface behaviour.
• Reset Sync menu added.
Version 2.0x differs from 1.1x versions in supporting DSD at 2.822MS/s over
the optional IEEE 1394 interface.
(Upgrader’s note: the 1394 interface hardware may be retrofitted to any unit.)
Version 1.13 differs from version 1.11 in supporting synchronisation to the
Wordclock Input.
(Upgrader’s note: on units manufactured before February 2001, the Wordclock
Input was labelled OPTION or was blanked off.)
Version 1.11 differs from version 1.0x as follows:
• in supporting Master Mode clock operation (it can give out a clock for CD
players, for example, to lock to),
• in supporting updates of the software by CD,
• and in offering more filters (6 instead of 4 at 176.4 kS/s and 192 kS/s)
• in allowing partial resets.
