Steps
1. Align the screw hole on the power button with optional fingerprint reader with the screw hole on the palm-rest and keyboard
assembly.
2. Replace the screw (M2x3) that secures the power button with optional fingerprint reader to the palm-rest and keyboard
assembly.
3. Connect the fingerprint-reader cable to the I/O board and close the latch.
4. Adhere the tape that secures the fingerprint-reader cable to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
5. Adhere the Mylar over the fingerprint-reader cable.
Steps 3 to 5 are applicable to computers shipped with a fingerprint reader.
Next steps
1. Install the power-button board.
2. Install the display assembly.
3. Install the left fan.
4. Install the heat sink.
5. Install the base cover.
6. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.

NOTE:
Ensure that your computer is in Service Mode. For more information see, step 6 in Before working inside your
computer.
2. Remove the base cover.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Remove the memory module.
5. Remove the M.2 2230 solid-state drive or the M.2 2280 solid-state drive.
