Choose suitable motor cable and precautions
Improper installation and choice of motor cable will affect the performance of EMI filter. Be sure to observe
the following precautions when selecting motor cable. The shielded layers of motor cable need to be
grounded by using omega clips or pig tail. If omega clips are being used, the shielded layers need to have
a 360 degree contact with the motor and the PE on motor drive.
If a pig tail is being used for grounding, the length of the pig tail cannot be more than 5 times of the wire
size (WVW wire sizing)
