TROUBLESHOOTING OF MD (Hong Kong model)
Is disc loading normal ?
Check the items under "Disc Loading Not Normal".
Does the play/pause button make playback condition ?
Check the items under "No Playback Condition".
Is audio output normal ?
Check the items under "Audio Playback Circuit".
Is recording/playback normal ?
Check the items under "Recording/playback Operation".

Clean the object lens first then check the playback function because no operation may be caused by dirty object lens of the
optical pickup. Follow the steps below if it's still inoperative after the cleaning. When the object lens is unclean with dust
or etc., problems such as skipping or no TOC indication may happen. Check whether the lens is clean or not before
adjustment, and clean as follows if it's dirty.
• Turn off the power, and wipe the lens with a lens cleaning paper moistened with isopropile alcohol. Pay attention not to
scratch and not to touch the lens directly.

No Playback Condition
Does it make the no playback condition with both high and
low reflection discs ?
Go to "Check with Test Mode".
Only high reflection disc makes no playback.
Only low reflection disc makes no playback.
At the test mode with high ref. disc in, is the voltage at
93pin of IC1401(Mecha.) 1.3~1.6V ?
At the test mode with low ref. disc in, is the voltage at
93pin of IC1401(Mecha.) 1.6~1.4V (Recordable), 2.0~2.3V
(Prohibit)?
After readjustment, go to "Normal Playback".
Check the SW1931, Mecha.SW P.W.B..

Audio Playback Circuit
In case of playback, time advance but no sound during playback.
Is there any audio output waveform at 24, 26pin of
IC1701(Mecha.) ?
Check 70~72, 74pin of IC1201(Mecha.), and 12, 16, 17,
19pin of IC1701(Mecha.).
Is there any audio output waveform at 26, 28pin of CN1501 ?
Check the connection from IC1701(Mecha.) to
CN1501(Mecha.).
Check the OP amp., mute circuit, and power circuit
peripherals of the Main P.W.B.
