What to do if my Dillon EDxtreme Measuring Instruments does not appear accurate?

If your Dillon EDxtreme does not appear accurate, first ensure that shackles are in good working condition and aligned straight. Verify the system is applying force directly through the dynamometer without any off-center or torsional loads. Also, if being compared against dead-weights, check your local gravitational constant and use custom units to compensate or calibrate on-site. Finally, check repeatability by placing the EDX in low-resolution mode, lifting an arbitrary weight several times as close to capacity as possible, and recording each weight reading. Calculate the standard deviation to see if it's greater than 0.1% of the instrument capacity. Compare against a reference load. Place EDX in low-resolution mode. Apply a known load near instrument capacity. Check calibration date.
