What to do if my Dillon EDX Measuring Instruments does not power on?
    • M
      Michelle SullivanSep 12, 2025
If your Dillon EDX does not power on, first replace the batteries with high-quality alkaline batteries, as the current ones may be low. Ensure that the positive terminals of both batteries (nub) face inward towards the black cap and that the spring is attached to the battery cap. If it's a software issue, remove the battery cap and reinstall it after one minute, then attempt to turn the power on again. Finally, the display contrast might be too light. Hold the Right Arrow key down while pressing the F2 key several times to increase the display contrast. If nothing occurs, release both keys, press the power button, and try again.

Why my Dillon Measuring Instruments EDXtreme does not appear accurate?
    • M
      Mike FieldsNov 21, 2025
If your Dillon Measuring Instruments EDXtreme doesn't seem accurate, there are several things you can check: * Make sure the shackles are in good condition and aligned straight. * Verify the system applies force directly through the dynamometer without off-center or torsional loads. * If comparing against dead-weights, check your local gravitational constant and use custom units to compensate or calibrate on-site. * Check repeatability by placing the EDX in low-resolution mode, lifting an arbitrary weight several times as close to capacity as possible, and recording each weight reading. Readings should not differ much from each other. Calculate the standard deviation of the readings using a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel. See if the deviation is greater than 0.1% of the instr...
