4 Door signage – power operated pedestrian doors
ED100 / ED250 is supplied with door sign decals to alert and
instruct pedestrian traffic in operation and function of door.
Method of activation determines combination of decals required.
Not all decals will be used in every application.
Safety signs are specified in ANSI A156.10, American National
Standard for power operated pedestrian doors, paragraph 11.
Swinging doors including double egress
1. ARROW and AUTOMATIC DOOR sign – shall be visible
from approach side of a swinging door, mounted on door at a
height of 58" ± 5" [147 ± 13 cm ] from floor to centerline
of sign.
Sign shall be a minimum of 6" [15.2] in diameter and
have a green circle surrounding a black arrow on a white
background.
2. DO NOT ENTER and AUTOMATIC DOOR sign – shall be
visible from non-approach side of door that swings towards
pedestrians attempting to travel in wrong direction.
Sign shall be mounted on door at a height of 58" ± 5"
[147 ± 13 cm ] from floor to centerline of sign.
Sign shall be a minimum of 6" [15.2] in diameter, and
have a red circle with wording inside circle.
3. AUTOMATIC CAUTION DOOR sign – swinging doors
serving both egress and ingress shall have a "CAUTION,
AUTOMATIC DOOR" sign visible from swing side of door.
Sign shall be mounted on door at a height of 58 ± 5"
[147 ± 13 cm] from floor to center line of sign.
Two signs supplied, one for each side of door. For glass
doors, only one sign is required since printing is on both
sides.
Knowing Act doors
Door(s) shall also have the following signage on side of door
with knowing act device:
4. "Activate Switch To Operate"
Door signage for one-way traffic
5. "Arrow" and "Do Not Enter"
Door signage for two-way traffic
6. "Arrow" and "Automatic Caution Door"
