SPARK PLUG WIRE.
SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE
The Engine lacks
power or is not
running smoothly.
(Please refer to the
Engine Owner’s
Manual for Engine-
specific procedures.)
⇒ Check the Throttle Lever travel and adjustment. Make sure the Throttle Lever is
in the Run position.
⇒ Check that the Air Filter is clean. If it is dirty, change it following the procedure in
the Engine Owner’s Manual.
⇒ Make sure that the Spark Plug is clean. If it has fouled or cracked, change it. If
it’s oily, leave it out, hold a rag over the Plug hole and pull the Recoil Cord several
times to blow out any oil in the Cylinder, then wipe off the Plug and reinsert it.
⇒ The gas must be fresh and clean. If it is old, change it. Use a fuel stabilizer if
you keep gas longer than four weeks or so.
⇒ Check to make sure that your Engine has the right amount of clean oil. If it is
dirty, change it following the procedure on page 23.
⇒ If your Engine still lacks power, call 1-800-DR-OWNER (376-9637) for assistance.
