Using Dolby® Digital Surround Sound
17
Watching TV
Select one of the following, depending on your audio system:
Dolby—select this option if the stereo system or audio amplifier can
decode only Dolby Digital and will not process Linear PCM signals. See
your stereo equipment's owner's manual for more details on the
amplifier or decoder.
PCM Only—select this option only if the stereo system or audio
amplifier cannot decode Dolby Digital signals.
You can also choose from two different sound settings on this screen:
Standard. When you use this setting, the dynamic range is wider, which
makes music and loud noises louder, but voices quieter. This setting is
good if you don’t mind turning the volume up louder to hear the
speaking portions of programs.
Night. When you use this setting, the dynamic range is narrower, which
makes music and loud noises quieter, but voices louder. This setting is
good if you need to keep the volume lower.
