Inactivity Standby
You can set up a period of time after which, if there has been no activity (such
as changing channels or using the DVR buttons), the DTVPal DVR will go into
standby mode (the green front-panel light will go out). This does not affect any
event timers you have set, since the DTVPal DVR saves recordings when in
standby. To disable this feature or change its duration, press MENU, select
Preferences, Inactivity Standby, make your settings and then select Done.
RESETTING FACTORY DEFAULTS
Press MENU, select Setup, System Setup, and then Restore Factory
Defaults. A warning message will display on the screen. Select Yes to reset
preferences and user settings for the DTVPal DVR. This will not affect any
recordings you have saved, whether they are protected or not.
DIAGNOSTICS MENU
Press MENU, select Setup, System Setup, and then Diagnostics. You can
use options on this menu to help diagnose and troubleshoot issues you may
be having with your DTVPal DVR. The options include:
• Video Mem - Tests the VRAM in your DTVPal DVR for corruption.
• HDMI - Tests the HDMI connection to your TV, if one is present.
• HDD - Tests for problems with the hard-disk drive in the DTVPal DVR.
• USB Test - Tests the connection to a USB device, if one is present.
• Ethernet - Tests the DTVPal DVR’s network connection, if you use one.
• Counters - Allows you to view and reset a number of system counters.
PROGRAMMING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control gives you access to all the features of your DTVPal DVR.
You can set up the remote to control as many as three additional devices.
These devices can be your TV, VCR or DVD player, and a third device (such
as a VCR or DVD player, audio receiver, tuner or amplifier, or another TV or
DISH Network satellite receiver). To use your DTVPal DVR remote control to
operate these other devices, you must program your remote control for these
other devices. You can enter codes directly to control your devices, or you can
scan the remote control’s database of device codes to find the right one.
