Program Requirements
A special configuration program (CMDNPGM.EXE) supplied on the
LSS4 Configuration, IRC-3 Data Entry, and FCC Compiler disks is
used to configure the annunciators and to download program data into
the CMDN-C/SMDN-C's EEPROM memory. Each annunciator must
be configured and have its configuration downloaded into its memory
before it will operate. There is no default configuration installed in the
annunciator as shipped from the factory.
Project name and location information is entered to uniquely identify
each individual project.
Each annunciator connected to an IRC-3 or FCC/PCPU data line must
have its base network panel address for the first 88 messages and up to
three additional addresses entered. Annunciator location information
should also be entered.
Each annunciator connected to an FCC/DCPU printer port must have
its “display ID” and annunciator location information entered.
The operation of the front panel switches on the CMDN-C/SMDN-C’s
must be configured in conjunction with the front panel Enable/Disable
key switch.
All annunciators must have the type and text content of messages to be
displayed configured and downloaded into the annunciator’s memory.
Message routing and printer configuration information must also be
configured for each annunciator, as well as its “Geographic Category.”
Worksheets are provided at the end of this document to facilitate the
design and configuration of the annunciators.
Annunciator Setup - LSS4 Configuration
Jumper Setup
Jumpers JP1 and JP2 are RS-485 terminating jumpers, and must be
installed ONLY at the last annunciator on the RS-485 data line.
Switch Setup
All Dip switches should be set in the OFF position. SW1-4 clears the
database and loads the default parameters. To default the panel, turn
SW1-4 on, power down, then restore power.
