window, ready to select the next zone. Press the UP arrow key to step
to the next higher zone, or press the DOWN arrow key to step to the
next lower zone, and repeat the process for all active zones.
If a message is already available for a zone, it will appear for editing
then the zone is selected. The total number of zone messages entered is
shown on the screen along with an arbitrary number for each message.
This number shows the messages position in a file, and may change
when the file is automatically sorted when the message entry screen is
saved to a file.
The XFER function is not available to transfer messages between
annunciators having different sub-addresses in the LSS4 mode.
Editing Tools
A number of editing options have been provided to assist in rapidly
entering message text. The Transfer function (XFER) may be used to
copy the information from a previously configured panel into the
"selected display,” when using the FCC configuration. The message
stack may be used to rapidly manipulate message text.
Using the XFER (Transfer) Function (FCC mode only)
When all information and messages have been entered for the selected
CMDN/SMDN, press ESC until the
"Parameter Entry for Entire
Project" menu appears. Press S to move the cursor to the Select Display
window. Enter the address of the next CMDN/SMDN display to be
configured in the selected display window. To copy a configuration
from a previously configured display into the “selected display,” press
X to move the cursor to the XFER (transfer) window. Use the UP and
DOWN arrow keys until the address of the source display's address
appears in the XFER window. Press ENTER to start the transfer
process. Press Y to confirm the transfer. The selected display is now
configured identically to the source panel, and ready for any required
editing.
Using the Message Stack
A second editing function called the temporary message stack may be
used to modify the contents of the message window. The message stack
window is located immediately below the two message window
segments. The message stack is used to speed up the process of editing
and entering messages in the selected CMDN. Once a message has
been entered into the message window, a copy may be sent down to the
top of the stack by pressing CTRL + D. The addition of a message to
the message stack pushes all previously saved messages lower on the
stack. The stack can hold up to four different messages. The message at
the top of the stack can be copied back up into the message window by
pressing CTRL + U. If the stack message to be copied into the message
window is not at the top of the stack, rotate the stack by pressing CTRL
+ R until the desired message reaches the top of the stack, then press
CTRL + U to put a copy of the top of the stack message in the message
window.
