6. Maintenance
6.1 Safety informaon
WARNING:
Obey the safety instrucons in this secon and take note of appropriate precauons.
Failure to observe these instrucons may result in injury to people and damage to
equipment.
WARNING:
Wait one minute for capacitor discharge aer disconnecng the power supply before
working on the pump.
WARNING:
The pump may be contaminated with the process chemicals that have been pumped
during operaon. If so, ensure that the pump is decontaminated before maintenance
and that adequate precauons are taken to protect people from the eects of
dangerous substances if contaminaon has occurred.
WARNING:
Allow the pump to cool to ambient temperature before starng any maintenance
work.
The pump is designed to require lile user maintenance. Observe the following
guidelines when carrying out maintenance on the pump:

A suitably trained and supervised technician must maintain the pump.
▪
Ensure that the maintenance technician is familiar with the safety procedures that
relate to the products processed by the pumping system.
▪ Wear the appropriate safety clothing when coming into contact with contaminated
components.
▪
Dismantle and clean contaminated components inside a fume cupboard.
▪
Do not reuse O‑rings or seals.
▪
Isolate the pump and other components from the electrical supply so that they
cannot be operated accidentally.
▪
Aer maintenance has been completed, re‑check the direcon of pump rotaon if
the electrical supply has been disconnected.
▪
Check all required components are available and are of the correct type before
starng work.
▪
Leak test the system aer installaon is complete and seal any leaks found to
prevent leakage of hazardous substances out of the system and leakage of air into
the system.
▪
Protect sealing faces from damage.
