6. Maintenance
6.1 Safety informaon
WARNING:
Obey the safety instrucons in this secon and take note of appropriate precauons.
Failure to observe these instrucons may result in injury to people and damage to
equipment.
WARNING:
Wait one minute for capacitor discharge aer disconnecng the power supply before
working on the pump.
WARNING:
The pump may be contaminated with the process chemicals that have been pumped
during operaon. If so, ensure that the pump is decontaminated before maintenance
and that adequate precauons are taken to protect people from the eects of
dangerous substances if contaminaon has occurred.
WARNING:
Allow the pump to cool to ambient temperature before starng any maintenance
work.
The pump is designed to require lile user maintenance. Observe the following
guidelines when carrying out maintenance on the pump:

A suitably trained and supervised technician must maintain the pump.
▪
Ensure that the maintenance technician is familiar with the safety procedures that
relate to the products processed by the pumping system.
▪ Wear the appropriate safety clothing when coming into contact with contaminated
components.
▪
Dismantle and clean contaminated components inside a fume cupboard.
▪
Do not reuse O‑rings or seals.
▪
Isolate the pump and other components from the electrical supply so that they
cannot be operated accidentally.
▪
Aer maintenance has been completed, re‑check the direcon of pump rotaon if
the electrical supply has been disconnected.
▪
Check all required components are available and are of the correct type before
starng work.
▪
Leak test the system aer installaon is complete and seal any leaks found to
prevent leakage of hazardous substances out of the system and leakage of air into
the system.
▪
Protect sealing faces from damage.
