What to do if my ELFON OPTIMA SL255 panel displays 'SHORT.LINE.' message?
    • T
      Trevor MilesAug 13, 2025
If the ELFON Intercom System panel displays the message "SHORT.LINE.", it indicates a shorted handsets line. To resolve this, eliminate the short-circuit. After correcting the shorting issue, the panel may continue to display the shorting message for up to 10 seconds.

Why doesn't the code or RFID tag open the electric lock on my ELFON OPTIMA SL255?
    • M
      Mary PerezAug 16, 2025
If the general/individual code or RFID tag isn't opening the electric lock on your ELFON Intercom System, even without error messages, verify that the permission to open the electric lock using the general/individual code or RFID code is properly configured.

If you hear a power grid hum during a conversation using the ELFON Intercom System, try the following: Increase the supply voltage (do not exceed 15VAC), increase the cross-sections of long supply cables, or increase the power of the central unit power supply if it's too low.

How to stop the peep sound on my ELFON OPTIMA SL255 Intercom System?
    • J
      John HunterAug 25, 2025
If you are experiencing a peep sound during talking or when putting down the handset receiver on your ELFON Intercom System, first reduce the sensitivity of the panel microphone (using the MICROPHONE potentiometer) or reduce the panel loudness (using the LOUDNESS potentiometer). For specific handsets, try adjusting the handset potentiometer (if available) or setting the balance (BALANCE potentiometer).

Why does my ELFON OPTIMA SL255 panel display 'TRY AGAIN' in multi-entry mode?
    • C
      Christine BarronSep 1, 2025
If the ELFON Intercom System panel displays the message "TRY AGAIN" during each handset dialling attempt in a multi-entry system, ensure that each panel operating in the system has the same option selected - Multi-entry mode ("Two panels" or "OP- H4 mode"). Check the connection of each panel using the Communication test option. If using „OP-H4 mode”, verify that the communication module channels to which the panels are connected are activated. If using „OP-H4MS mode”, ensure one panel is connected to channel 0 of module OP-H4. Also, check if the panel data lines are connected with correct polarization.

Why does my ELFON OPTIMA SL255 say 'NUMBER NOT FOUND'?
    • J
      Janet CollinsSep 4, 2025
If, after selecting a flat number, the ELFON Intercom System panel displays the message "NUMBER NOT FOUND", it indicates that the selected number has not been added to the operated ranges.

Why does my ELFON Intercom System panel return to the main message after selecting a flat?
    • B
      brianmckeeSep 8, 2025
If, after selecting a flat, the ELFON Intercom System panel immediately returns to the main message, it is because zero dialling time in general settings, zero ringing time in individual settings, or zero ringing time for the dialled physical number of the handset in individual settings is set.
