2U, 25 (2.5-inch) DAE (DAE5S)
The 2U, 25 (2.5-inch) disk drive DAE used in the VNX5400 platform is 2U (3.5 inches) high
and includes 25 disk drives. It uses a 6-Gb/s SAS interface for communication between
the disk processor enclosure (DPE) storage processors (SPs) and the DAE.
Front view
On the front of the VNX5400 platform, the 2U, 25 (2.5-inch) disk drive DAE includes the
following components:
◆ 2.5-inch 6-Gb/s SAS, 6-Gb/s NL-SAS, or Flash disk drives (hot-swappable)
◆ Status LEDs
Figure 52 shows the location of these components.
Note: In a VNX5400 platform, when using the 2U, 25 (2.5-inch) disk drive carrier, the
maximum amount of disk drives is 250 (including the DPE and expansion DAEs).
