DPSI RV Family Operating Instructions Version 2.0

If, due to center of gravity, the batteries are placed far away from the
DPSI RV (the connection cable is therefore quite long), it is advisable
to twist the cable of the batteries. We recommend using our LONGGO
Lithium Polymer batteries. These are supplied completely cabled and
can be attached immediately to the DPSI RV. An additional charging
connector at the LONGGO battery enables charging without having to
disconnect the battery from the DPSI RV. Charging devices for the
LONGGO batteries are also available from EMCOTEC.
Selecting the output voltage
We recommend 5.6 up to 5.9 volts for the entire receiver system
(especially for servos approved for 6 volts). All available receivers
today can be operated at 5.9 volts without limitation.
Some servos are approved just for 4.8 volts according to their
manufacturer’s specification (e.g. fast tail rotor servos for helicopters).
Here, an output voltage of 5.3 volts is permissible offhand. These
values are meant for 4-cell NiCad batteries. This battery shows 5.3
volts when fully charged. 4.8 volts are only reached, when the battery
is almost empty.
Hint:
The higher the difference between the input- and output voltage, the higher the
power dissipation that must be converted to heat. If using many servos, it is
advisable to select a higher output voltage at the DPSI RV.
Application Recommended
Output Voltage
Tail rotor servos, helicopter with fast
gyroscopes , servos for 4.8V according to
manufacturer specifications
5.0V up to 5.3V
Gliders, small motor models 5.3V up to 5.6V
Aerobatic models, Jets, Airliners 5.6V
Combat models (Aerobatic) 5.6V up to 5.9V
