FAILURE PROBABLE CAUSE SUGGESTED ACTIONS
5. Compressor is noisy
a) Liquid return to compressor
Check expansion valve functionality and
superheating.
b) Compressor is damaged Replace the compressor
6. Compressor high suction
pressure
a) Thermal load higher than foreseen Check the ambient thermal load
b) Check the ambient thermal load See point 8
C) Liquid refrigerant return to compressor suction
side
Check that thermostatic valve superheating is
correct.
Check that the valve sensor bulb is rightly positioned,
xed and insulated.
7. Compressor low suction
pressure (possible frost on the
coil)
a) too low ambient temperature See point 3
b) Air ow is too low or missing at all See point 11
c) Obstructed refrigerant lter Check refrigerant lter
d) Not calibrate or defective thermostatic valve
Verify that thermostatic valve superheating is correct.
Verify that the thermostatic element is intact
e) Insufcient refrigerant charge Check if there is a leak and recharge the circuit
f) Too low discharge pressure See point 9
8. Compressor high suction
pressure
a) too hot air to the condenser Verify possible recirculation of condensing air
b) too low condensing air ow
verify if anything obstructs the free air ow to the
nned exchanger
c) Too high suction pressure See point 6
d) Dirty nned condenser Remove the obstructing material
e) too high refrigerant charge : partially ooded
condenser
High refrigerant subcooling: discharge refrigerant
from the circuit
f) not condensable air or gas in the circuit
gas bubbles in the ow sightglass. High compressor
discharge temperature; discharge the circuit and
recharge it once more after making vacuum.
g) too hot water to condenser Check condenser water cooling system capacity
h) Insufcient condensing water ow
Check system pressure drops and compare them
with the external pressure of the pump.
9. Low compressor discharge
pressure
a) condensing pressure control system is not efcient
Check calibration and functionality of condensing
control pressure system
b) Too low suction pressure See point 7
10. Probe Alarm
a) The probe corresponding to the alarm code is
damaged or disconnected.
Check the connection of the damaged probe and its
functionality
If required replace the probe
