6.2 Incorrect measurements
Trouble-shooting table Table 6.2 summarises the most common operating errors which lead to incorrect
measurement by the Prolevel transmitter.
Sensor/
channel
Fault Cause and remedy
Capacitance
Channel 1
Measured value wrong
Incorrect calibration? Check measured
value before linearisation, V0H9
- if not correct, check whether full and empty
calibration correct V0H1/V0H2
- If correct, check linearization parameters
- Check operating mode, V8H0
Change in product
- recalibrate for new product
Probe damaged, bent or pressed to side of
vessel
- check and remedy
Condensation in connection compartment
Deltapilot S
Channel 1
Measured value wrong
Incorrect calibration? Check measured
value before linearisation, V0H9
- if not correct, check whether full and empty
calibration correct V0H1/V0H2
- If correct, check linearization parameters
- Check operating mode, V8H0
Change in density of product
- recalibrate
- for Mode 0, 1, 5, enter new density at V8H7
Sensor damaged
- check and remedy
Capacitance
or Deltapilot S
Channel 1
Relays do not trip correctly
Incorrect settings, e.g. configured in wrong
units
- Check correct units used for all relay settings
- Check relay assignments, V1H4, V1H9
- Simulate settings in simulation mode - see
Section 6.3, if the relays LEDs switch, check
wiring
Capacitance
Channel 2
Does not switch correctly
Incorrect calibration?
-V1H7
V8H6?
- change in product, build-up on probe
Build-up on probe
- wire electronic insert for build-up, see
Section 2.4
Settings wrong
- type of probe, fail-safe function, switching
delay
Probe damaged, bent or pressed to side of
wall
Liquiphant
Soliphant
Channel 2
Does not switch correctly
Build-up on probe
- clean regularly
Settings wrong
- type of probe, fail-safe function, switching
delay
Probe damaged or bent
