5.3.6 Heartbeat Technology
Heartbeat Technology continuously diagnoses whether failures have occurred. The scope of
the diagnostics in the SIL mode corresponds to the SFF.
Heartbeat Technology also allows operators to create documented proof that diagnostic
checks have been carried out and thereby supports the documentation of proof testing in
accordance with IEC 61511-1, Section 16.3.3, "Documentation of proof testing and
inspections".
NOTICE
The SIL mode needs to be disabled temporarily in order to perform heartbeat
verification.

On completion of the verification, the SIL mode must be enabled again .
The Heartbeat Verification application package is available as an order option and can
be retrofitted on all measuring devices.
