4. Load envelopes following the instructions in “Loading single sheets from the front” on page 45,
“Loading paper to the cut sheet feeder” on page 114, or “Loading paper using the automatic sheet
alignment unit” on page 120. Be sure to fold the flap and be careful of the flap’s orientation.

Postcards
You can print on a variety of postcards by loading them the same way you load single sheets from the
sheet guide or with the optional cut sheet feeder or optional automatic sheet alignment unit.
Follow these steps to load envelopes:

Caution:
Use envelopes only under normal operating conditions.
1. Make sure that your software settings keep the printing entirely within the printable area. See
“Printable area” on page 134 for more information.

Caution:
Printing on the edge of an envelope can damage the print head.
2. Make sure that Manual/CSF is selected as the paper source on the home screen. If not, select it by
pressing the Paper Source button.
