Aligning the print head automatically
A
When the Menu is displayed, select Head
Alignment - Alignment, and then press the r
button.
B
Press the d/u buttons to select Auto, and then
press the r button.
C
Press the d/u buttons to select the type of
alignment pattern, and then press the r button.
If you have already performed Head Alignment
from the computer, select Uni-D. If you are
performing Head Alignment for the first time,
select Bi-D 5-Color.
D
Press the Z button to print the pattern.
The sensor reads the adjustment pattern while it
is printing, and automatically registers the
optimum adjustment value to the printer.
Tip:
If the results of the Bi-D 5-Color adjustment are
unsatisfactory, perform Uni-D adjustment. If the
results of the Uni-D adjustment are unsatisfactory,
perform Bi-D All adjustment.
Aligning the print head manually
In manual adjustment, adjust with Uni-D first and then
with Bi-D 2-Color. If you want to make more precise
adjustments, try Bi-D All.

When the Menu is displayed, select Head
Alignment - Alignment, and then press the r
button.

Press the d/u buttons to select Manual, and then
press the r button.
C
Press the d/u buttons to select Uni-D, and then
press the r button.
D
Press the Z button to print the pattern.
E
Check the pattern and select the pattern number
that has the least gaps.
F
If Uni-D #1 C is displayed on the control panel's
screen, press the d/u buttons to select the
pattern number you confirmed in step 5, and
then press the Z button.
G
Set the number for #1 C to #4 VLM, and then
press the Z button.
#1 to #4 indicates the size of the ink dots.
H
Select Bi-D 2-Color, and then repeat steps 4 to
7.
Tip:
When Head Alignment is complete, press the W
button.
To make more precise adjustments, select Bi-D All,
and repeat steps 4 to 7.
