Open the right-hand side cartridge cover.
Press the groove in the cartridge cover to open
the cover.

Pull Maintenance Box 1 out.
Lifting Maintenance Box 1 up releases the lock,
and you can simply pull it straight out.

Place the used Maintenance Box 1 in the clear bag
included with your new Maintenance Box 1, and
make sure that the zipper is closed tight.

Insert the new Maintenance Box 1.
Note:
Pay attention to the following since the printer may
not operate or print correctly otherwise.
❏ Do not touch the green IC chip on the side of
Maintenance Box 1.
❏ Do not remove the film from the top of
Maintenance Box 1.

Close the cartridge cover.
Replacing Maintenance Box 2
The instructions for replacing Maintenance Box 2
(Maintenance Box for borderless printing) are as
follows.
The on-screen message reads Maintenance Box 2,
however the product name for this consumable is
Borderless Maintenance Box.
Note:
Do not replace Maintenance Box 2 while printing.
Printing stops if the lock on Maintenance Box 2 is
released. If stopped in the middle of printing, colors may
vary and/or print quality may decline once printing is
resumed.
