Alarm Delays
The following alarm outputs can be delayed for smoke detector alarms:
Zone Outputs (zone sounders & IO outputs)
Fire Relay
Monitored output 1
Monitored output 2
Zone Of Origin
Manual Call Points always give instant operation, whichever type of zone they may be a part of.
Note: If the Zone Mode is set to CP/DET then a heat detector alarm will operate in the same way as a
smoke detector alarm and use the ‘Delay’ time. In order for a heat detector alarm to override the ‘Delay’
time the zone mode must be set to CP/SM/HT.
The default delay time is 0, if this is set to anything other than zero the delay LED on the panel will
illuminate even if all the above outputs are set to instant and the delay time is not being used.
The default setting for ‘Zone Of Origin’ is ‘Instant’. If an alarm occurs on a delayed zone the sounders
on that zone will override the delay time and activate instantly.
To delay zone sounders on the zone of origin ‘Zone Of Origin’ must be set to ‘Settings’.
Configuring ‘Zone Of Origin’ to ‘Settings will apply to all zones on the system; sounders on all delayed
zones will follow the delay time regardless of the origin of the fire.
Caution Setting a delay of greater than 1 minute is outside the scope of EN54-2.
