The detector DIL switch number 2 may be used to enable the ‘Logical Link’ which links the operation of
the sounder to that individual detector whilst in confirmation warning stage. If this is set to the off
position, the Alarm Confirmation Warning will sound in the entire zone.
Logical link disabled (Zonal Confirmation)

Confirmation Type
Confirmation Type can be set such that any detector on another dwelling zone can confirm the alarm or
set so dwelling zones act independently.
With Confirmation Type set to ‘System’ if a second dwelling zone goes into alarm it will confirm the first
dwelling zone alarm and cause the entire system to go into a full alarm, operating all the sounders and
fire outputs on the system.
Setting the confirmation type to ‘Zonal’ means that multiple dwelling zones can be in alarm at the same
time; they will work independently of each other and will not put the entire system into full alarm.
Caution – Setting the Confirmation Type to ‘Zonal’ is outside the scope of EN54-2.
