To install this child restraint properly in the rear-facing posi-
tion, the SureLatch assembly must be in the rear-facing belt
path, as shown below (seat pad has been removed for clar-
ity). If the SureLatch assembly is in the forward-facing belt
path (shown below), use the following procedures to move it
to the rear-facing belt path.
To access the SureLatch assembly, you will first need to:
• Loosen internal harness straps (p. 16);
• Disconnect SureLatch connectors (p. 60);
• Remove seat pad (p. 66).

Which Type of LATCH Connector is on
Your Child Restraint?
SureLatch Connector
In order to properly install your child restraint with the
LATCH system, you must first know which type of LATCH
connector is present on your child restraint.
• If your child restraint has SureLatch Connectors,
begin installation by referring to “Moving SureLatch to
the Rear-facing Belt Path,” below.
• If your child restraint has the Quick Connectors™, be-
gin installation by referring to page 24, “Moving Quick
Connectors to the Rear-facing Belt Path.”
