the bow just aft of the anchor locker. The hatch
is equipped with a gas charged spring that holds
the hatch in the open position. The compartment
drains by gravity to the bilge.
Flush, twist lock latches secure the hatches in the
closed position. There is a large red dot in each
handle that indicates that the latch is in the open
position and the hatch is not secure. Always make
sure the hatches are closed with the latch in the
secured position before operating the boat above
idle speed.
Forward below Deck Fishbox
An insulated shbox is located below the cockpit
sole, just forward of the center console. Two
cable straps hold the hatch in the open position.
Drain rails around the hatch are connected to a
thru-hull drain system in the hull below the water
line. A ush, twist lock latch secures the hatch
in the closed position. There is a large red dot in
the handle that indicates that the latch is in the
open position and the hatch is not secure. Always
make sure the hatch is closed with the latch in
the secured position before operating the boat
above idle speed.
The shbox is drained by a centrifugal pump ac-
tivated by the Fishbox switch in the helm switch
panel. The shbox pump and seacock valve for
the hatch drain system are located below round
access hatches in the cockpit sole just aft of the
shbox or inside the center console.
Be sure to monitor the water level in the shbox
and turn the pump off as soon as pumping is
complete. The pump could be damaged if it is
allowed to run dry for extended periods. The sh-
box should be pumped out and cleaned after each
use. Refer to the Drainage Systems chapter for
more information on the shbox drainage system.
