Occasionallyyoumaywishtousethemulchplugto
mulchthegrassandleafclippingsbackintothelawn.
•InstallingtheMulchPlug:
1.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
2.Ifthegrassbagisonthemower,removeit
(refertoRemovingtheGrassBag).Iftheside
dischargedeectorison,removeitandlower
thesidedischargedoor(refertoUsingthe
SideDischargeDeector).
3.Raisethereardischargedoorandinsertthe
mulchplugintothedischargeopening.The
plugwillsnapintothemowerhousing.

Note:Whengrassisthickandlush,clippings
maycollectonandaroundthedischargetunnel
plug.Thismaymakeitdifculttoremovethe

Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
•InstallingtheSideDischargeDeector:
1.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
2.Removethegrassbagifitisinstalledonthe
mower(refertoRemovingtheGrassBag).
3.Installthemulchplug(refertoInstallingthe
MulchPlug).
4.Liftandholdthesidedischargespringin
the“up”positionandpulloutwardonthe
dischargedoortoremove(see
Figure16).
