BeforeOperationSafety
•Evaluatetheterraintodeterminewhataccessories
andattachmentsareneededtoproperlyand
safelyperformthejob.Onlyuseaccessoriesand
attachmentsapprovedbyExmark.
•Inspecttheareawherethemachineistobeused
andremoveallrocks,toys,sticks,wires,bones,
andotherforeignobjects.Thesecanbethrown
orinterferewiththeoperationofthemachine
andmaycausepersonalinjurytotheoperatoror
bystanders.
•Thismowerwasdesignedforoneoperatoronly.
DoNotcarrypassengers.
•Wearappropriatepersonalprotectiveequipment
suchassafetyglasses,longpants,substantial
slip-resistantfootwear,andhearingprotection.
Tiebacklonghairandavoidlooseclothingand
loosejewelrywhichmaygettangledinmoving
parts.
•Thismachineproducessoundlevelsinexcessof
85dBAattheoperator’searandcancausehearing
lossthroughextendedperiodsofexposure.Wear
hearingprotectionwhenoperatingthismachine.
•Checkthatthefollowingitemsareinplaceandin
properworkingcondition:theoperatorpresence
controls,safetyswitches,guards,shields,discharge
deectorand/ortheentiregrasscatchersystem.
Donotoperatethemachineunlesstheyarein
properworkingcondition.Replacewornor
deterioratedpartswithgenuineExmarkparts
whennecessary.
DANGER
Itisessentialthatoperatorsafetymechanisms
beconnectedandinproperoperating
conditionpriortouse.Contactingtheblade
canresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.Whenthekeyisturnedto
the“OFF”position,theengineshouldshut
offandthebladeshouldstop.Ifnot,stop
usingthemachineimmediatelyandcontact
anAuthorizedServiceDealer.
•DoNotoperatethemowerwhenpeople,
especiallychildren,orpetsareinthearea.Shut
offthemachineandattachment(s)ifanyone
entersthearea.
•DoNotoperatethemachinewithouttheentire
grasscollectionsystem,dischargedeector,
orothersafetydevicesinplaceandinproper
workingcondition.Grasscatchercomponents
aresubjecttowear,damageanddeterioration,
whichcouldexposemovingpartsorallowobjects
tobethrown.Frequentlycheckforwornor
deterioratingcomponentsandreplacethemwith
themanufacturer’srecommendedpartswhen
necessary.
