take-off(PTO)symbol,engagesanddisengages
powertothemowerblades.Thisswitchcontrols
powertoanyattachmentsthatdrawpowerfromthe
engine,includingthemowerdeckandcuttingblades.
EngagingtheBlades
1.Releasetheparkingbrake.
•ForE-andS-SeriesModels,movethecontrol
leversinwardfromthecenterT-slotpositions.
•ForX-SeriesModels,pushthebrakelever
forwardanddown.
2.Movethethrottlemidwaybetweenthe“SLOW”
and“FAST”positions.
Note:Alwaysengagethebladeswiththethrottle
inthemidwayposition.
3.Pulloutonthebladecontrolswitch,tothe“ON”
position,toengagetheblades.

5.Placethethrottleinthe“FAST”position.
6.Allowtheenginetorunforaminimumof15
seconds,thenturntheignitionswitchtothe
“OFF”positiontostoptheengine.
7.Removethekeytopreventchildrenorother
unauthorizedpersonsfromstartingengine.
