RemovingtheSparkPlug
1.Parkmachineonlevelground,disengagetheblade
controlswitch,engagetheparkingbrake,stop
engine,andremovekey.Waitforallmovingparts
tostopbeforeleavingtheoperator’sposition.
2.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.

usuallythemosteffectivemethodforcleaning.
Thesparkplugismostaccessiblewhentheblower
housingisremovedforcleaning.
InstallingtheSparkPlug
1.Installthesparkplug.Makesurethattheairgap
issetcorrectly.
2.Tightenthesparkplugto18to22ft-lb(25to29
N-m).

blackcoatingontheinsulatorusuallymeansthe
aircleanerisdirty.
Important:DoNotcleanthesparkplug(s).
Alwaysreplacethesparkplug(s)whenithas:
ablackcoating,wornelectrodes,anoilylm,
orcracks.

1.Removetheblowerhousingandanyothercooling
shrouds.
2.Cleanthecoolingnsandexternalsurfacesas
necessary.
3.Makesurethecoolingshroudsarereinstalled
Important:Operatingtheenginewithablocked
grassscreen,dirtyorpluggedcoolingns,
and/orcoolingshroudsremoved,willcause
enginedamageduetooverheating.
