1.Installthebladeontothespindleshaft(Figure64).
Important:Thecurvedpartoftheblade

themowertoensurepropercutting.
2.Holdthebladeendusingaragorthickly-padded
glove(orplaceawrenchonthetopsheavenut).
Installthebladeboltandwasherassembly.
3.Torquethebladebolt:
•ForAllDeckSizesExcept48Inch:60-80
ft-lb(81-108N-m).
•48InchModels:50-60ft-lb(68-81N-m).
WARNING
Incorrectinstallationofthebladeor
componentsusedtoretainthebladecause
thebladetocomelooseandcouldseriously
injureorkillyouorbystanders.
AlwaysinstalltheoriginalExmarkblades,
washersandbladeboltsasshown.
LevelingtheMowerDeck
Checktoensurethemowerdeckislevelanytime
youinstallthemowerorwhenyouseeanunevencut
onyourlawn.
Themowerdeckmustbecheckedforbentblades
priortoleveling;anybentbladesmustberemoved
andreplaced.RefertotheCheckingforBent
Bladesprocedurebeforecontinuing.
Themowerdeckmustbeleveledside-to-siderst
thenthefronttorearslopecanbeadjusted.

•Themachinemustbeonalevelsurface.
•Allfourtiresmustbeproperlyinated.Referto

Side-to-SideLeveling
1.Parkmachineonlevelground,disengagetheblade
controlswitch,engagetheparkingbrake,stop
engine,andremovekey.Waitforallmovingparts
tostopbeforeleavingtheoperator’sposition.
2.Settheheightofcutto3inches(76mm).
3.Carefullyrotatethebladessothattheyareallside
toside(Figure67andFigure68).
