operatortobeintheseattostarttheengine.)
Turningthekeytothe“OFF”positionwillstopthe
engine;however,alwaysremovethekeywhenleaving
themachinetopreventsomeonefromaccidentally
startingtheengine.
BladeControlSwitch(Power
Take-Off)
Locatedoncontrolpanel.
Thebladecontrolswitch,representedbyapower
take-off(PTO)symbol,engagesanddisengages
powertothemowerblades(seeFigure5).
Pulluponthebladecontrolswitchto“ON”to
engagetheblades.
Pushdownonthebladecontrolswitchto“OFF”
todisengagetheblades.
ThrottleLever
Locatedoncontrolpanel.
Thethrottleisusedtocontrolenginespeed.Moving
throttleleverforwardwillincreaseenginespeedand
movingthrottlelevertotherearwilldecreaseengine
speed(seeFigure5).
•ModelswithExmark452ccEngine:Thethrottle
islocatedwiththechokecontrol.Movingthe
throttleleverfullforwardwillplacetheleverin
thechokeposition.
•Allothermodels:Movingthethrottleforward
untilitstopsisfullthrottle.
ChokeControl
Thechokeisusedtoaidinstartingacoldengine.Do
Notrunawarmenginewiththechokeinthe“ON”
position.
•ModelswithExmark452ccEngine:Thechoke
islocatedwiththethrottlecontrol.Movingthe
levertothefullforward(Choke)positionwill
placetheleverinthechokeposition.
•ModelswithExmark708ccEngine:Pullingup
onthechokecontrolwillputthechokeinthe
“ON”positionandpushingdownthecontrolwill
putthechokeinthe“OFF”position.
MotionControlLevers
Themotioncontrolleverslocatedoneachsideof
theseat(Figure4).
Movingtheleversoutwardfromthecenterposition
intotheT-slotlocksthemintheneutralposition.
Themotioncontrolleversarespeedsensitivecontrols
ofindependentwheelmotors.Movingalever
forwardorbackwardturnsthewheelonthesameside
forwardorinreverse;wheelspeedisproportionalto
theamounttheleverismoved.Movingthecontrol
leversoutwardfromthecenterpositionintothe
T-slotlocksthemintheneutralposition.
