battery.
•Ventilatewhenchargingorusingbatteryin
anenclosedspace.
•Makesureventingpathofbatteryisalways
openoncebatteryislledwithacid.
•Alwaysshieldeyesandfacefrombattery.

Batteryelectrolytecontainssulfuricacid,which
ispoisonousandcancausesevereburns.
Swallowingelectrolytecanbefatalorifittouches
skincancausesevereburns.
•Wearsafetyglassestoshieldeyes,andrubber
glovestoprotectskinandclothingwhen
handlingelectrolyte.
•DoNotswallowelectrolyte.
•Intheeventofanaccident,ushwithwater
andcalladoctorimmediately.
CAUTION
Iftheignitionisinthe“ON”positionthere
ispotentialforsparksandengagementof
components.Sparkscouldcauseanexplosionor
movingpartscouldaccidentallyengagecausing
personalinjury.
Besureignitionswitchisinthe“OFF”position
beforechargingthebattery.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengage
thebladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversouttotheneutral
lockposition,engageparkingbrake,stopthe
engine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Raisetheseat.
4.Disconnectthenegative(black)groundcable
fromthebatterypost(Figure53).Retainall
fasteners.
