4. Coat the mating surfaces of the air
lter case and air lter case cover
lightly with grease for an airtight
seal.
5. Install the air lter element.
6. Install the air
lter case cover by
installing the screws.
Make sure that the air lter ele-
ment is properly seated in the air
lter case.
The engine should never be op-
erated without the air lter ele-
ment installed, otherwise the
piston and/or cylinder may be-
come excessively worn.
Carburetor
The carburetor is an important part of
the engine and its emission control sys-
tem, which requires very sophisticated
adjustment. Therefore, carburetor ad-
justments should be left to Explorer
dealer, who has the necessary profes-
sional knowledge and experience.
