MAINTENANCE MANUAL EXTRA 300/SC
32-10-00 LANDING GEAR
The EXTRA 300/SC is designed as a conventional tail wheel
airplane, with an unretractable landing gear.
The landing gear consists of a 2 wheel main landing gear and
a tail wheel.
The main wheels are attached to the fuselage by means of the
landing gear U-spring. This spring is of integral glass-fibre
design and incorporates wheel alignment, spring and damp-
ening action.
IMPORTANT New bolts are to be used when the wheel axles are re-
placed or refitted.
The tail wheel is steerable and features full swivel capability.
The tail wheel steering is attached to the rudder bottom hinge
bellcranks using the same bolts as the control cables.
The values for wheel rake and toe-in of main landing gear are
given in Figure 1.
