If an emergency should arise whereby there is a need to terminate
insufflation, the operator should stop the CO
2
gas flow by
promptly disconnecting
the Administration Set at the
PROTOCO

L Colon Insufflator Output port.

VOLUME DISPLAY
The Digital Volume Display reads the total volume of CO
2
passing from the
PROTOCO
2
L Colon Insufflator to the patient. The digital display i
ndicates the
volume of CO
2
delivered in Liters and tenths of Liters and has a range of 0 to 99.9
Liters.
NOTE:
While in the RUN mode, the unit will maintain the set pressure in the colon
even if there is no apparent flow. The unit must be left on until th
e procedure is
completed.

TERMINATING GAS FLOW & SHUT

DOWN PROCEDURES
1.
Upon completion of the diagnostic procedure, disconnect PROTOCO
2
L
Administration Set from the unit at the Output port and press the FLOW
STOP/RUN button if in RUN mode. Allow colon to deflate through the
PROTOCO
2
L Administration Set.
2.
Deflate retention cuff, clamp administration set to prevent spillage of colonic
flu
ids and remove tip. Discard the entire PROTOCO
2
L Administration Set in
accordance with all Federal, State and Local regulations.
Administration Sets
are intended for single
-
use only. Reuse of the administration set carries an
increased risk of cross
-
conta
mination.
3.
Turn power off and disconnect the power cord from power outlet.
4.
It is recommended that the CO
2
supply tank valve be fully closed when not in
use.
