Before operating the devices in hazardous areas, contact the local safety authorities and safety experts.
Damage to Electric or Electronic Components
• Do not use the devices in the vicinity of strong magnetic or electrical fields.
• When scanning outdoors or in dirty surroundings, protect the device from liquids and humidity, but
also from dust and dirt which may damage the electronic in the devices.
• Do not use the devices near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, or other products (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
WARNING: Strobe light
The flashlight is a strobe light and can be hazardous to persons who are susceptible to
photosensitive epileptic seizures. In case of doubt, switch the flashlight to OFF.
Transport
• When carrying the devices, take care not to drop them. Strong impact may damage the devices and
render them incapable of proper operation.
• When shipping and transporting the devices by rail, sea, air, or in a road vehicle, make sure to use its
original transport case and a suitable outer cardboard box for best protection against shock and
vibration.
• The FARO batteries are lithium-ion batteries and are thus classified as dangerous goods. When
transporting or shipping the FARO batteries, ensure that you observe all applicable local and
international rules and regulations. For further information, contact your local forwarder before
transportation or shipping.
• For lithium-ion batteries with less than 100Wh energy content, an exemption is provided that
allows you to carry such a battery without further paperwork. The maximum battery energy a single
person can carry is 200Wh.
NOTE: One fully-charged PowerBlock does not exceed 100Wh.
Storage
Pack the devices in the transport case to protect them from environmental hazards.
Store in an environment with the following characteristics:
• low humidity level
• relatively stable temperature
• no extreme temperatures
• no extreme environmental conditions (dust, dirt, etc.)
• no heavy vibrations
