When performing a rmware update, the user might encounter four scenarios in which a rmware update
cannot be initiated. In such cases, the DISPLAY WINDOW will indicate that Rumble Studio 40/Stage 800’s WiFi
connectivity is not congured, no update is available, the update has failed, or the amplier update server is
unreachable (see illustrations below).
In addition to the rmware update described above, Rumble Studio 40/Stage 800 oers several user-enabled
start-up modes encompassing factory restore functions. These are:
RESTORE ALL: To restore the factory presets and amp settings contained in the amp’s most recent rmware up-
date, press and hold the PRESET LAYER button (green arrow in illustration below) for ve seconds while turning
the amplier on. Note that this function will delete all user-created presets. This function is also accessible as an
“Amp Settings” MENU utility button function (see page 57).
WIFI UPDATE/RESTORE ALL: To combine a rmware update and the start-up option directly above (RESTORE
ALL), simultaneously press and hold the ENCODER and the PRESET LAYER button for ve seconds while turn-
ing the amplier on (blue arrow in illustration below). Note that this function will delete all user-created presets.
FORCE UPDATE: To update Rumble Studio 40/Stage 800 if there is a problem with the previously described
rmware update process, a “Force Update” mode can be initiated by pressing and holding the ENCODER and
SIGNAL PATH LAYER button while turning the amplier on (purple arrow in illustration below).
RECOVERY: To recover the base rmware version (displayed in “About This Amp,” see page 60) including presets,
simultaneously press and hold the PRESET LAYER button and X FX utility button for ve seconds while turning
