The๎IGโ100๎inert๎gas๎consists๎of๎100%๎nitrogen.๎๎
Detailed๎below๎are๎the๎steps๎necessary๎to๎fill๎the๎PROINERT๎container๎with๎IGโ100๎by๎pressure:๎
Connect๎the๎valve๎outlet๎and๎pull๎25"๎to๎27"๎of๎the๎vacuum๎to๎remove๎residual๎atmosphere๎and๎moisture.๎๎
Fill๎the๎container๎with๎nitrogen๎via๎the๎valve๎inlet,๎as๎detailed๎in๎the๎table๎below:๎๎

NOTE:๎ Perform๎a๎preliminary๎leak๎check๎at๎the๎cylinderโs๎neck๎with๎a๎soap๎solution๎(SwageLok๎Snoop๎or๎its๎
equivalent)๎once๎it๎has๎been๎filled๎halfway.๎If๎a๎leak๎is๎detected,๎discontinue๎the๎fill๎for๎that๎particular๎
cylinder.๎

Verify๎the๎gases๎by๎ensuring๎that๎the๎final๎fill๎pressure๎is๎as๎detailed๎above๎at๎59ยฐF๎(15ยฐC).๎If๎required,๎refer๎to๎
the๎pressure๎vs.๎temperature๎chart๎for๎IGโ100๎in๎Appendix๎A.2.๎๎
Close๎the๎valve๎by๎unscrewing๎the๎central๎screw๎on๎the๎filling๎adaptor๎and๎remove๎the๎top๎half๎of๎the๎adaptor.๎
Notice๎the๎dowel๎on๎the๎internal๎piece๎of๎the๎filling๎adaptor๎move๎downwards๎during๎this๎operation.๎๎
Proceed๎with๎removing๎the๎bottom๎half๎of๎the๎filling๎adaptor๎by๎unscrewing๎the๎two๎M6๎set๎screws.๎Remove๎
this๎adaptor๎from๎the๎valve๎and๎check๎that๎the๎spring๎washer๎has๎dropped๎lower๎than๎its๎original๎depth.๎
Vent๎the๎filling๎hose๎and๎check๎that๎there๎is๎no๎flow๎from๎the๎valve๎outlet.๎
Fit๎the๎Valve๎Lockout๎Assembly๎(P/N๎IG71โ235;๎Figure๎4.2.2โ1)๎onto๎the๎valve๎prior๎to๎removing๎the๎filling๎
hose.๎
Remove๎the๎filling๎hose๎and๎screw๎the๎recoil๎cap๎on๎to๎the๎discharge๎outlet.๎
Remove๎the๎valve๎lockout๎assembly๎from๎the๎valve๎after๎the๎recoil๎cap๎has๎been๎fitted.๎
Check๎the๎container๎pressure๎(Section๎6).๎
Once๎testing๎is๎complete,๎screw๎the๎sh ipping/safety๎cap๎onto๎the๎cylinder.๎๎
