5. TRANSPORT, HANDLING AND STORAGE
5.1 Recommendations on the transport and handling of the
terminals
Transport and storage temperature: -20°C to +70°C.
Normal operating temperature: -20°C to +36°C.
Extreme operating temperature: -20°C to +55°C.
Humidity: up to 95% at +55°C.
Solar radiation limit at ground level: 1,120 kW/m² at +55°C.
Respect the following handling recommendations:
transport terminals in their original packaging,
transport terminals attached on their original pallet,
do not place the terminals in a horizontal position,
do not stack terminals,
do not stack the terminals pallets.
During transport, be careful to the safety of persons and equipment protection (against
shocks, bad weather, etc.).
All equipment or sub-equipment handling / lifting must respect the required safety
conditions:
By trained and authorised personnel in accordance with national laws and
regulations.
In all cases, prohibit persons from parking under the loads.
Any load greater than 20 kg must not be lifted or carried by one single person.
A load to be carried by two persons must not exceed 45 kg.
Before lifting the equipment, take into account the mass and the centre of gravity of the
handled elements.
Lifting devices and systems must comply with local regulations.
Use lifting and handling devices with compatible capacity with the loads to carry.
5.2 Handling a terminal removed from the transport pallet
Once the terminal is removed from its transport pallet, if using a hand truck, make sure that
it has the following characteristics:
equipped with stair climber wheels in order to facilitate movement on the terminal
site (sidewalks, …),
small ledge size to facilitate the installation on the threaded rods.
The terminal must be attached to the hand truck with straps in order to avoid tipping.
If applicable, ensure that the lifting rings and hooks are correctly installed and that their
carrying capacities are sufficient.
Stretch out the slings until they stop floating. Make sure that the handling system
can carry the load. To do so, lift the load to less than 5 cm.
Lift the equipment carefully and smoothly.
