DISPLAY
5.1
FUNCTION
Selects the display of (differential or summed) total or rate.
TOTAL
total and flow rate are shown simultaneously. When SELECT is pressed,
the accumulated total is shown temporarily.
RATE
flow rate is shown with its engineering unit. When SELECT is pressed, the
total and the accumulated total are shown temporarily.
ALL
flow rate is shown with its engineering unit. When SELECT is pressed, the
total/accumulated total, the flow rate A, the accumulated total A, the flow
rate B and the accumulated total B are shown temporarily.
5.2
LIGHT
The backlight brightness can be adjusted from 0% (off) to 100% (full
brightness) in steps of 20%.
When the F116-P is only loop powered, the backlight is disabled. An
external power supply is required to supply the backlight.
5.3
CALCULATE
DIFFERENTIAL Flow rate/total are calculated as input A input B
ADD Flow rate/total are calculated as input A + input B.
5.4
MEASUREMENT
To solve undesired display readings during low or even negative
consumption situations, four different measurement methods are available.
The following choices can be made for handling positive or negative flow.
Flow rate shown as:
Total shown as:
BI-DIRECTIONAL
Positive or negative
Increasing or decreasing
NOT-NEGATIVE
Positive or zero
Increasing or decreasing
THRESHOLD
Positive when greater than threshold
set at Setup 5.5, else zero.
Increasing when flow is greater then
threshold set at Setup 5.5, else
stopped.
STATIONARY
Fixed value as set at Setup 5.5
when lower than threshold set at
Setup 5.5
Fixed increase as set at Setup 5.6
when flow is lower than threshold
set at Setup 5.5.
Note: when Setup 5.6 is set at zero,
total is calculated as bi-directional.
This setting does influence the analog output value as well.
5.5
STATIONARY
FLOW RATE
Sets the value used with Setup 5.4 THRESHOLD or STATIONARY.
Displayed flow rate will always be zero when no pulses are input.
5.6
STATIONARY
TOTAL
Sets the value used with Setup 5.4 STATIONARY for calculating the total
while flow rate is below the setting of 5.5.
Totalization will stop when no pulses are input.
Entering zero will disable stationary totalization.
3.3.7 MENU 6 - POWER MANAGEMENT
When used with the internal battery option (type PB/PC), the user can expect reliable measurement
over a long period of time. The F116-P has several smart power management functions to extend
the battery life time significantly. Two of these functions can be set.

POWER MANAGEMENT

LCD NEW
Calculation of the display-information influences the power consumption
significantly. When a fast display refresh rate is not necessary, it is strongly
advised to select a slow rate. Please understand that NO information will
be lost; every pulse will be counted and the output signals will be
generated in the normal way.
At a key press, the display refresh rate will switch to FAST for 30 seconds.
When 'OFF' is selected, the display goes off after 30 seconds after the last
key press. The display temporarily comes on after a key press.
Example battery life-time with a coil pick-up:
1kHz pulse and FAST update: about 2 years;
1kHz pulse and 1 sec update: about 5 years.
