4 -1. GENERAL
4- 2. The Model 540B Thermal Transfer Standard re-
quires minimal routine maintenance, other than re -
placing the mercury batteries when they fail to meet
t he BATTERY CHECK requirements (Figure 2- 4). Use
caution when servicing the Model A54 Voltage Plug-In
Unit, for any change of components or wiring may ne -
