NT8 User's Guide | Chapter 16: Troubleshooting and FAQs
Take the following steps:
1. Turn the NT8 instrument off.
2. Reconnect the USB cable on the NT8’s USB port to your computer. Make sure it’s
connected properly, and then restart the instrument.
3. Next, run the software; the indicator box should be green after the software
detects the NT8 device.
4. If the problem persists, please check your software version; make sure that you
have installed the latest NT8 software and don’t hesitate to contact Formulatrix
support.
If you notice that the wash station is not functioning as usual, or it is making a different
sound, your system liquid reservoir may be empty or you may have air in the lines.
Please check your water source tank, fill it if necessary, and then prime the system by
clicking the Start System Priming button .
If that doesn't fix the problem, please contact support.
Q: What is the minimum volume that the NT8 can reliably aspirate and dispense?
A: Using the LV head, the NT8 can reliably aspirate and dispense 100 nL with a CV average
of 5%.
Q: How much volume can the protein tray hold?
A: If you have the LV protein block, the maximum volume is 3 µL per well (8 wells per
column, 3 columns total, for a total of 72 µL).
With NT8 2.4, we introduced a HV protein block that can hold up to 13 µL per well (8 wells
per column, 3 columns total, for a total of 312 µL). We also introduced a specialized
protein block that fits into Microplate Station 3, which holds the equivalent of 4 HV protein
blocks, or 1248 µL.
