Operating Mode
The following applies to this kind of Internet connection:
The FRITZ!Box receives an IP address from the upstream
device via DHCP.
The FRITZ!Box opens up its own IP network.
The FRITZ!Box works as a router.
The firewall of the FRITZ!Box is enabled.
9.2 Connecting to a VDSL, DSL or Fiber Optic Modem
Selecting the Internet Connection
1. In the user interface of the FRITZ!Box, select the “Inter-
net / Account Information” menu and the “Internet Con-
nection” tab.
2. Select the “DSL or fiber optic modem” entry from the
“Internet connection via” area.
3. Select your Internet service provider. If your Internet ser-
vice provider is not included in the list, select the “Other
Internet service provider” entry.
Entering Your Account Information
If you received account information from your Internet
provider, enter the information here.
Changing the Connection Settings
Depending on the Internet provider, the following connection
settings can be configured:
Transmission speed on your Internet connection
Holding and clearing the Internet connection
VLAN settings
Operating Mode
The following applies to this kind of Internet connection:
The FRITZ!Box must obtain the public IP address from
the Internet service provider via DHCP or PPPoE.
