Changing the Type of Connection
Overview
The FRITZ!Repeater can be connected with an internet router (FRITZ!
Box) in two ways: You can establish a Wi-Fi connection to the router or
connect the FRITZ!Repeater with a LAN cable.
The following connection types must be configured for the FRITZ!Re-
peater:
for connection via Wi-Fi: “Wireless bridge”
(standard setting)
for connection via LAN cable: “LAN bridge”
“LAN bridge” is configured automatically for FRITZ!Repeaters with
FRITZ!OS version 7.20 or higher whenever they connect to a FRITZ!
Box with FRITZ!OS version 7.00 or higher.
You can check this setting manually on your FRITZ!Repeater and
change it if needed.
Application Example
The FRITZ!Repeater was already connected with the internet router
(FRITZ!Box) via LAN cable and now is to be connected via Wi-Fi.
When the FRITZ!Repeater was connected with the internet router
(FRITZ!Box) via LAN cable, it was not automatically set to the con-
nection type “LAN bridge”.
